Dyslexia and Men in Incarceration
Approximately 48% to 47% of men in incarceration struggle with dyslexia. There are two studies that confirm this number one from Yale University, the other from the University of Texas.
Our intervention for dyslexia, which has been tested with incarcerated men, and shows that in two months, TABE scores rise by 11 points. We have men making whole grade level improvement in comprehension. Every single man improved in oral reading, fluency. All, but one, who was already functioning at the 95% level, improved in vocabulary. Many of these men went on to pass the HiSET test with more than a minimal score.
We are proud of the results that we achieve with the incarcerated, and we look forward to helping more incarcerated individuals overcome their dyslexia.
